Sophie Demenge and Michael Ryan, a French American husband and wife team, launched New York children’s label Oeuf (pronounced UH-F, meaning ‘egg’ in French) after the birth of their first child in 2002.

Motivated by a desire to create design conscious and environmentally friendly pieces for the modern nursery, Oeuf focuses on the three key principles of quality, practicality and functionality. “Oeuf’s mission is to make good design available to as many people as possible while having a minimum impact on the environment.” Hence the super soft luxurious natural alpaca fibre they use in their knits are lanolin free and a renewable source whilst the sale of every Oeuf item helps to provide healthcare and education for the children of the women who hand knit each of these pieces in Bolivia.
