Jantien Baas and Hester Worst, graduates of the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, launched design company Tas-Ka in 2004. The Czech translation for ‘handbag’ - the mainstay of their initial collection - Tas-Ka now includes a selection of homewares as well as fashion accessories and textiles. Inspired by the likes of Marimmekko and Dutch stylist Frank Visser of Apartemento and Milk magazine, the pair consciously choose natural fabrics for all their products and actively support fair trade with all items being produced locally in the Netherlands. “We think it is our responsibility to be sure that our products are made in good working conditions, we also think it is important to stimulate local economy…We try to support old craftsmanship as much as we can so there will be a new generation of people to transform traditional crafts and so the crafts will stay.”
Tas-Ka is exclusive to Couverture in London
