For Dutch sisters Madelon Lanteri-Laura and Natalie Vodegel it was their respective studies in archeology and history of art that initially brought them to Paris, followed by stints working at various fashion houses including Hermes.

With their cumulative experience, the sisters launched their own bag and accessory label, 'Polder' in 2001, followed in 2008 by 'April Showers by Polder', a miniature version of the adult line.

With their cumulative experience, the sisters launched their own bag and accessory label, 'Polder' in 2001, followed in 2008 by 'April Showers by Polder', a miniature version of the adult line. Comprising bags, jewellery, knitwear, shoes, clothing and socks, the April Showers' collection is renowned for incorporating handmade elements, bringing an inimitable artisan quality to every item. Adopting the use of clean lines, interesting prints, natural materials and a cool colour palette, the sisters describe the collection as 'a mix of a Nordic spirit, with a French touch of vintage.'
