The Clothing.

Garbstore acts as a kind of time traveller for modern Garments, unlimited by style or genre. Vintage pieces are collected, restored and expanded upon using original fabrics that have been re-made to fit the purpose. Original Trimmings and good old style Talon and Scovill Zippers are used in favour of mass production options. We aim to create familiar Garments that have a foot in the past yet look to the future, with a few doffs of the hat on the way.

We re-imagine garments making them Historically new.

The way things last, the way things fit and how things feel are the mantra of the line.

The Denim.

We only use the highest quality denim available. This is from the Okayama prefecture in western Japan. There is no comprimise, all of our jeans follow the same standards both in textile manufacture and make up. All of our jeans are special, not just the ‘showcase’ model.

Natural Plant Indigo. 14 Ounce short loom Selvedge Denim from Okayama


    Natural Dyed Indigo Cotton Denim, colored by Natural organic indigo plant dye or Dyers Knotweed known as Polygonum tinctorum. Imported from China into Japan during the  5th & 6th Centuries. Now superseded in Japan by the more common Indigofera, Dyers Knotweed remains the truly historical indigo of choice. Giving a long lasting true blue colour that coats the outside of the cotton Yarn allowing both room and time to travel into the yarn giving a unique shadow blue colour after wear and wash.
