What began as a hobby to fill time is now a thriving business for Austrian craftsman, Klaus Mader and his family. The Mader name is synonymous with exquisite handmade spinning tops made from single pieces of wood native to Europe.

Employing classic as well as technically challenging wood turning techniques, Mader tops are turned, burned, embossed, carved, brushed, painted and varnished in up to 20 different processes that always include their trademark burned-in stripe on the equator of each top.
