The creative force behind coveted children’s line Mor Mor Rita for over a decade and with a legion of fans including Maggie Gyllenhaal who has said of Roche, “She has so much style and…a particular elegance you don’t see anywhere else, I kept thinking to myself, I wish she could do this for adults”, the launch of Roche’s eponymous womenswear collection in 2011 seemed a logical progression.


Exquisite cashmere knits, delicate organic cotton voile maxi dresses and knitted dresses with poetic crochet details come in Roche’s signature neutral palette with highlight dashes of vivid colour. With an admirable environmental conscientiousness determining where fabrics, dyes and yarns are sourced, Roche also produces much of the collection locally in Long Island City and Queens as well as collaborating with a woman’s co-operative in Nepal to create the specialist cashmere pieces. “There is a story behind the clothing, Roche says. “That is so important to me.”
