New to Couverture this season is German designer Svenja Specht’s elegantly androgynous label, Reality Studio. Not tied to seasonal trends or fast fashion, Reality Studio focuses on cleverly constructed pieces in luxurious fabrics and effortless shapes.

For S/S 14, the brand has collaborated with French scarf label Milleneufcentquatrevingtquatre; renowned for their digital printing and photo montage techniques. The result is a contemporary collection with an intriguing mix of surrealist designs and a vibrant colourful palette.

The collection is available online and in-store.

The Couverture buying team recently travelled to Paris Fashion Week to view the Autumn Winter ’14 collections. In addition to the much anticipated food and ambience unique to Paris, highlights included a visit to cult Japanese label Minä Perhonen, whose collection was presented in the exquisite surroundings of the Swedish Institute in the Marais; a former 16th century hotel which still bears original features dating back to Louise XVI; as well as iconic French shoemaker Michel Vivien, Nolita favourite A Détacher and new to Couverture, hip t-shirt label G.Kero.

Having both graduated from Arts-Deco Paris, the duo draw on their backgrounds and experience in graphic design and illustration to create a line of creative and intelligent products for children and the home.

Giant colouring maps of Paris, placemats and DIY paper costumes in the signature OMY style provide endless opportunities for experimentation and creativity.  All materials are chosen for their quality and respect for the environment, highlighting the brands underlying ethical message.

As autumn is looming and its grey outside, look to designers further afield to brighten up home interiors. Products from Hay, Mae Engelgeer and Mina Perhonen create a contemporary look with natural elements and interesting contrasts of wood, glass and vibrant colour.

The orange top coffee pot by Leeds born designer George Sowden and scented smudge sticks from US brand Juniper Ridge are some of our personal seasonal favourites.

New to Couverture this season, Micaela Greg is the result of a sisterly collaboration between Marie and Karen Potesta.

Operating from the cool shores of San Francisco, the American siblings combine their textile design backgrounds to craft visually bold pieces that fuse modern geometric patterns with intermingling textures. These artful techniques are anchored with deceptively simplistic silhouettes for a boyishly cool aesthetic.

The spring summer collection sees a muted palette of soft mint, blues and greys punctuated with perforations and intriguing textures – perfect pieces for cool summer nights and stretching a warm weather wardrobe into next season.
