Originally known as Eleven Vintage, The Quality Mending Company has been on the same block of Prince Street in Lower Manhattan since 2002. The store has always concentrated on stocking rare and unique vintage menswear. The owner of the store, Irish-born Oliver Harkness, has over 20 years of experience in dealing in vintage clothing and sources deadstock American and European pieces for the store.
In 2010, as it became clear that select in-demand items were getting more difficult to track down, The Quality Mending Company introduced its own line of vintage inspired, locally made clothing and accessories. All pieces are hand made in the US – either within two miles from the store, or sewn in their own basement. Garbstore is proud to introduce The Quality Mending Company to the UK with its capsule collection of vintage reproduction pieces.
