A couple of weeks ago, we invited photographer and style content creator Anthony Lee to explore the Garbstore SS19 collection and to interpret his personal style into both the pieces he selected and the local area. Whilst the streets of Notting Hill and West London are very different from his home city of Liverpool, Anthony was able to juxtapose the relaxed shapes of the Drop Out Sports long-sleeved rugby jersey and Garbstore Ruffel Trouser against the strong, architectural residential backdrop.

On Anthony’s first visit to Couverture and The Garbstore, he was drawn to the heritage story of the Drop Out Sports Rugby Jersey; made from 100% organic cotton that incorporates historically accurate details in the placket and chest panel as well as being made to the authentic weight and construction of the original using vintage machines, in the UK. Anthony was also immediately interested by the Ruffel Trouser, an item he was familiar with but being a new shape for Garbstore, was a style that was a fresh update on his own aesthetic. Made using a 100% lightweight Japanese cotton that is both soft and durable, the suede panels on the inside leg added another dynamic to his look. We pride ourselves on championing both local and global manufacturing as well as telling a great story with every piece we design and sell, so it was great for Anthony to share his thoughts on our own narrative.
