Ace & Jig

With their exciting and aesthetically beautiful SS15 collection, Ace & Jig’s latest offering of understated, effortless clothes does not fail to impress. Drawing inspiration from vintage textiles and antique clothing, comfortable and relaxed pieces are lovingly constructed using ancient handlooms, creating authentic items with rich, tactile surfaces. American designers Cary Vaughan and Jenna Wilson inject a level of NYC cool into their work, fusing a mutual love of vintage with a passion for textile reinvention. Interested in the longevity and authenticity of fabrication, the designers set out to create a truly seasonless collection. Looking to India, which they now travel to several times a year, they have found weavers who share the same values and philosophy. Their core belief is that the use of yarn-dye stripes allows for an iconic and timeless medium that is endlessly inspirational. Designs are subtle but made bold by their simplicity, reflecting textile influences spanning the globe, from antique French linens to Japanese quilts. With patterns that work well contrasting each other, the clothing can be worn layered up or dressed down for a more casual look. Key pieces include the loose fitting Meadow Top with elbow length raglan sleeves, cut from a double-gauze checkered cotton; a reversible Terra Skirt made with luxuriously soft cotton; and a classic Sherpa Bomber Jacket made from unique Ace & Jig fabric and quilted sleeves. Shopping for yourself or another, Ace & Jig offers something timeless and unique that stands alone in its authenticity and originality. View the latest pieces from the collection here.
