Engineered Garments- Shop the SS19 edit

Engineered Garments- Shop the SS19 edit
Founded in 1999 by Daiki Suzuki, Engineered Garments is progressive, functional and inspired by his adoration, almost obsession, for vintage workwear, outdoor and sports inspired pieces.
A firm favourite at The Garbstore, the New York based brand is part of the Japanese Nepenthes group (home to other cult brands Needles and South2 West8 to name a few) and you can see the blend of Americana and Japanese influences in the labels aesthetic. With all pieces made in the USA, the label took its name from a pattern marker hired to draft the first round of patterns. She claimed that the clothes were not merely designed but engineered due to the vast amount of detailing involved in each garment.
For their new Spring Summer 2019 collection, the label have continued to exapand and re-interpret its archive in a range of new fabrics and updated details. Take for example the Highcount Twill NB Jacket, an updated version of their popular Bedford Jacket, with new button detailing, lapels and a worn-in puckered back (a low-tech process that is done by hand as not to over-do the effect). Or the Light Blue Dayton Shirt in a breezy cotton chambray– featuring a technically astute mandarin collar, split hem and four patch pockets.
This level of detail and hands-on approach ensures that each collection has a consistent aesthetic, together with a seasonal theme, which has made Engineered Garments one of menswears most revered and desired labels. Shop the collection below or discover more brands within the Nepenthes family (Shop Needles) (Shop South2 West8)
