Garbstore - Spring Summer 2019 collection

Garbstore - Spring Summer 2019 collection
For their new Spring Summer 2019 collection, Garbstore has gone time travelling; re-imagining styles from the Fifties by way of the Swinging Sixties and Seventies.
Inspired by the simple, pared back forms of post-war dressing and the rich, vibrant patterns of the 1970s, the line feature boxy shaped shirting and outerwear that nod to the styles found during these two decades, but are equally aware of modern menswear trends.
The distinctive short-sleeved Slacker Shirt in cotton is a reinterpretation of bowling shirts from the ’70s, created using an original bird print paying homage to adventurous endeavors. The Flight Shirt is one of The Garbstore’s most recognisable items; made from a high quality, lightweight, stitch printed Japanese cotton. The lightweight piece is a perfect summer style, featuring 4 flap pockets, with press-stud closures throughout, and a signature fifth pocket hidden in the front seam.
New for SS19, the Expert Pocket Shirt is Garbstore’s take on the classic fishing smock. A loose, pullover shirt constructed using a high density Japanese cotton with a versatile neckline that can be worn open with a folded gusset and press stud closure or closed.
Garbstore’s well-loved classic Pull-Over Shirt has been reimagined with a 70s revival influence. Crafted from colourful Japanese lightweight paisley print cotton, it features twin chest pockets, button fastening and side seam pockets – an easy to wear oversized summer piece. Similarly, Garbstore’s classic Map Shirt returns with a single chest pocket, constructed in a cotton check with a lightweight denim collar.
For tailored inspired pieces, Garbstore has delved into British history for the Work Jacket; a relic of Britain’s industrial past and based on an original 50’s uniform, whilst the work wear Ruffel Trouser is a new wide leg silhouette, made from a soft lightweight cotton Japanese twill with inside leg suede panels.
Outwear built for showery spring days include the Co-Op Windbreaker, constructed using Japanese water-resistant Nylon. The multi-paneled piece is a shortened version of the original trench that still retains the oversized fit of its origin.
