Garbstore - Staff pick of the week - David

Garbstore - Staff pick of the week - David
Garbstore's staff pick of the week is by shop resident David. Garbstore Rail Kadet Coat: This jacket is beautifully cut and reminiscent of a time when luxury could be found everywhere. Even in work uniforms. I'm naturally drawn to anything Edwardian, up into the 1920's. It was such an exciting, progressive and prosperous time for growth. The clothing reflected that. The design here comes from a 20's U.S Kadet coat with some of the features being based on a 70's British rail uniform. Nice clean lines and a tailored fit. The wool is also extremely soft and warm so I don't ever have to sacrifice comfort for style when the cooler months roll around. That's important to me. Cardigan by Cardigan!: Autumn and sweaters. Wellies and warm blankets, fallen leaves and hot apple cider. I'm Canadian so I know all about cold winters. A lovely, chunky knit cardigan. It's luxuriously soft and made from the cosiest merino wool. I'm all about comfort and softness. Perfect for layering. Yuketen boots: These boots are great. Yuketen definitely know quality. The style is similar to the Seavees trail boot which I also really like. Sort of moccasin inspired. So as with those, you see that 60's / 70's casual, vintage West Coast feel. Amazing finishes as we've become used to seeing from Yuketen. These boots are really versatile, I can wear them with chinos to go to work or jeans and a t-shirt when you're hiking (or at least dreaming of hiking) through a canyon in the sunshine near the ocean. Think Neil Young and Joni Mitchell. Yuketen and Cardigan will both be available to buy online in the coming days - sign up to our newsletter on the homepage for regular product updates....
