The Jewellery Edit

A common thread unites our jewellery designers this season with personal journeys, whether by foot, hand or heart, informing pieces destined to become intrinsic parts of contemporary jewellery collections. Brighton based Alice Eden started in jewellery design upon unearthing silversmithing tools in her grandfather’s garage and fosters this heirloom feeling with keepsake pieces inspired by worldly travels. Likewise, Another Feather’s Hannah Ferrara is influenced by adventures abroad with the Japanese concept of “wabi-sabi” guiding unique but minimal pieces with a focus on comfort and material. Californian Grace Lee began her journey in fine jewellery making engagement rings for friends, before launching her eponymous label offering a pared down approach to precious jewels. This simplistic sentiment is shared by Wwake designer Wing Yau, whose progressive jewellery line captures traces of her handiwork in the most delicate wisps of gold. Open House designer Monika Wyndham’s inspiration traverses ancient Egyptian and Byzantine art to create modern relics to treasure, and finally long-term Couverture ally Helena Rohner distils inspiration from her personal travels into signature simplistic shapes and artful material combinations.
