Description

Handmade in one of the oldest towns in the Moroccan desert, the Tamegroute Bowl by Tribaliste is perfect for small precious items or as a decorative touch to the home. The imperfect glazed finish and rustic silhouette feels like relics from the past, yet have a modern, timeless quality. Originally created to help women clean their hands from henna, this traditional piece can now be used to serve fruits and salads. As each bowl is moulded and glazed by hand, the shape and colour may slightly vary, making each piece one of its kind with irregularities and chips on the glaze.

Tribaliste Morocco

A curation of traditional crafts, Tribaliste is dedicated to supporting Berber and local craftsman in Morocco. Their Tamegroute pottery takes its name from a town in the south of the country, adjacent to the Sahara Desert, meaning ‘last place before the desert’. Traditionally the last stop for the caravans who travelled across the desert on camels, the town has 7 ovens belonging to 7 pottery families who create unique pieces crafted by various relatives who pass the craft from one generation to the next. The pottery’s distinctive green colour is achieved by adding 1% copper to the glaze, resulting in a vivd characteristic with no two pieces looking the same.
