Japanese glassblowers Hokuyo Glass first started out manufacturing fishing floats, they now produce beautiful glass homeware such as jugs, glasses and bowls using the same techniques. The glass comes from abandoned fishing floats found along the northern Japanese coast which is then melted down and handblown, finished off with the kanji symbol 北 - Japanese for ‘North’.
