About Couverture & The Garbstore
Couverture & The Garbstore is a creative concept store by Emily Dyson and Ian Paley conceived in 2008. Housed in a three-storey converted period townhouse as well as operating online, this Notting Hill style haven transports you through an eclectic edit of womenswear, menswear, accessories and homewares.
Focusing on championing emerging and independent labels with a story to tell, our carefully curated collections perfectly embody the ‘shop independent’ philosophy that Couverture & The Garbstore stand by.
Run as two separate stores within the same building, Couverture is dedicated to womenswear, accessories, jewellery, homewares and beauty.
Downstairs is home to The Garbstore; firmly established as one of London’s best menswear shopping destinations. Deliberately eschewing the mainstream in favour of something innovative and unique, The Garbstore seeks to champion niche, independent labels, providing a showcase for emerging talent, limited edition products and collaborations. In addition to representing the very best of cult brands from the UK and globally, Garbstore also is home to its eponymous menswear label, created and designed by Ian Paley.
Overview
We are looking for someone who is bright and confident, with excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to multi task, juggle and prioritise. It is of the utmost importance that you are able to use your own initiative and are well-organised. Most importantly, you love working with people and are enthusiastic, outgoing with a can-do attitude.
You will also have a natural interest in fashion and be aware of fashion trends, knowledge of our competitors and brands we carry is highly desirable. You will have excellent I.T. skills and be highly proficient at Microsoft Excel. Copy writing skills and additional computer skills are desirable but not essential.
Role and Responsibilities will include:
• Retail: Covering shop floor when necessary including weekend.
• Web fulfilment: Picking, processing and dispatching orders
• Web: Supporting web team and social
• Stock Organisation: stock taking, helping maintain stock and sample stock in our storage space
• Ensure tea / coffee / milk / toilet roll etc in the basement kitchen / toilet area, is always stocked up
• Additional ad-hoc office work and projects across the business

Modelling experience not essential.
