Meadows, the diffusion collection by London designer Louise Markey of LF Markey fame has just landed into the Couverture store for Pre-Fall 2019. A romantic and feminine collection inspired by Victoriana, prairie-style, and folklore, Meadows was founded in March 2019 by Central Saint Martins graduate Louise Markey, who was initially prompted to create her own collection after being inspired by traditional bleus de travail and artist’s smocks. The brand prides itself in ethical and sustainable practices, prioritising ethical manufacturing, fair working conditions and living wages.
As with her mainline collection, Meadow's utilitarian foundation is elevated into elegant casual wear. Expect old world feminity, delicate floral embroidery and lace combined with workwear silhouettes and pleasingly practical fabrics.
